First webpage
Create first webpage using page properties, the toolbox and properties inspector. Website management: defining your site's root folder, file_names, index.html page. Adding a second page and links. Previewing your website in a browser by pressing F12. View source - a peek at the html code you are creating with Dreamweaver.
Personalise your site with images
Adding your own pictures from disc, by scanning or digital photography. Editing images with Adobe Photoshop or Imageready. Graphic file formats: jpeg and gif.
Website fundamentals
Setting typefaces, size, style and colour. Designing for your readers using the Window Size pop-up to prepare your site at a suitable size (800 x 600 or 640 x 480 pixels recommended). Spellchecking. Introduction to using tables to structure your page layout.
Improving layout control
Refining tables to improve layout. Table spacing and padding. Using layers as an alternative to tables, or converting layers to tables for version 3 browser compatibility. Rulers and tracing images.
