ABC Level 3 Award

(60 Guided Learning Hours) Unit Summary

This unit will enable candidates to develop technical skills in the development and production of material for publication on the World Wide Web. Candidates will be able to select and control appropriate software, and manipulate text and images to achieve intended outcomes.

 

Outcomes and Assessment Criteria

To pass this unit, candidates should be able to demonstrate they can:

1. Identify the function of Web page design within the context of the published solution

2. Explore and evaluate the effectiveness of a range of technical alternatives for the development of the Web page designs

3. Produce images for uploading on to the World Wide Web

4. Manipulate and file-save a corrected image for use on the World Wide Web

5. Accommodate legal and technical issues associated with publishing images on the World Wide Web

Content

An indication of typical areas of learning includes:

• Principles of publishing images and copy

• Application software solutions for Web page design

• Colour selection for Web presentations

• File management for Web export

• Intellectual Property Access to World Wide Web

• Uploading images for the World Wide Web

• Developing a strategy for handling images on the World Wide Web

 

Assessment Evidence

Candidates will present a portfolio of work, which will include:

• Production of a functional Web-site page
